Photos: Construction Will Soon Come to a Close for Local Streets

Village streets get a facelift in Bayside.

Stark Asphalt began paving Tennyson Drive and Standish Place, as well as Bayside Drive on Thursday. The final lift of asphalt will likely be laid on West Ellsworth Lane early next week.

In addition, Praeger Excavation continues their ditching and area regrading along both Bayside Drive and Tennyson Drive to aid in stormwater drainage. After all of the ditching maintenance has been completed, a landscape contractor will be on site to finish all restoration and seeding as needed.

While work was expected to be completed by Friday, some road integrity issues have delayed the project by only a few days. Keep up-to-date with the most recent project timelines by visiting the Village's website.

That's nice that the resurfacing will be done soon. What I can't understand is why the Village can go onto private property looking for violations and issue notices/citations and yet miss all of the ones occurring right out in the open and clearly seen from the street. Maybe it's a case of "selective" vision and only seeing what certain people want to see. So, here we go... Here are just a few more samples of flagrant violations occurring and have been for some time. You even have violations clearly visible on properties that are having their roads out front re-surfaced. Surely, many staff from the village have traveled these roads to view progress. It's 6 am so I doubt the Kiddie Pool offenders have set their pools up for the day. Then again, that's what the police are supposed to be catching. Sorry that these slipped by since they are so visible and continuously occurring. Enjoy the new photos and we are now up to 380 views on Flickr. And no, I really don't care about any of these situations, but once again if village officials are going to go onto private property and seek out anything they can to write someone up for and ultimately issue citations, then they need to take their blinders off and see what's right in front of them out in the open. http://www.flickr.com/photos/53698684@N04/

We have hit 400 views...& most of the situations highlighted above (except for a few pool changes) are still occurring in full force. It only takes ~40 minutes to do a complete drive thru of the village, not too tough. http://www.flickr.com/photos/53698684@N04/
