Tommy Thompson, Tammy Baldwin Confirm 3 U.S. Senate Debates

The candidates agreed to square off once in Wausau and twice in Milwaukee over the next six weeks.

Tommy Thompson and Tammy Baldwin have agreed to three televised debates prior to the Nov. 6 general election for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Herb Kohl.

Two debates will be in Milwaukee and one in Wausau:

"We need a new direction for our country, a direction that leaves our country in better shape for our children and grandchildren," said Thompson, the former governor and GOP nominee, in a press release Monday. "Voters deserve to hear my opponent defend the record $16 trillion in debt driven by out-of-control government spending."

Baldwin, a U.S. Representative, aims to keep the seat for the Democrats as the GOP tries to gain control of the Senate with an eye on repealing the Affordable Health Care Act. She agreed to three debates last month; Thompson confirmed Monday he would participate.

“We know how much Republicans like talking to an empty chair, but not us,” said John Kraus, communications director for the Baldwin campaign. “We are excited that Thompson has decided to follow Tammy’s lead and accept our debate challenge.”

Thompson Crushed Baldwin in the debate. Anyone who seen it seen a strong Thompson battling for solutions while Baldwin stood for the status quo of failure .Thompson will win ths race by at least 5 to 8 points.

That's not what I saw. But especially I don't think we need another corporate crony in office. Tammy Baldwin is the best choice to protect Medicare and Social Security. Tommy is a good friend to Big Pharma, etc. No thank you.

@Bren - That's because you didn't watch the debate - instead, you were watching Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O'Donnell! Even the uber-liberal SanFrancisco Gate said this about Baldwin: "Baldwin, in contrast, has served seven relatively low-profile terms in the U.S. House." Confirming Tommy's charge that: "When you don't have a record, you attack the other person," the former Wisconsin governor said. "I get things done. I don't criticize the other side. I make sure things happen."" http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Thompson-goes-after-Baldwin-in-Wis-Senate-debate-3901359.php Baldwin looked weak, incompetent, and in over her head! She's going DOWN!!! ROMNEY/RYAN/THOMPSON 2012!!!
