The outcome of the 8th Senate District followed a day full of drama.

It took until after midnight for Alberta Darling to finally retain in 8th District State Senate seat, though the Democratic Party accused embattled Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus of vote tampering and challenger Sandy Pasch declined to publicly concede, choosing to later call Darling after leaving her post-election party.
