[Madison, Wis.] – As Obamacare implementation starts today, uncertainty and high cost cloud around it. With looming tax hikes on the way, the law will only hinder job growth and employer confidence.
“Even before it took effect, we were already seeing the negative outcomes of this costly boondoggle,” said Jesse Dougherty, Press Secretary at the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “The fact that job creators have been cutting back hours and pay for months shows visibly how this will harmfully affect the middle class.”
Obamcare’s true cost has yet to be fully realized, but the law is estimated to cost $2.6 trillion once fully implemented, including nearly $819 billion in increased tax burden.

As Obamacare becomes increasingly unpopular with Americans, even some of President Obama’s biggest backers including the AFL-CIO, UFCW, and Teamsters, as well as staunch Democrats have openly criticized the law.
“With staggering tax hikes and job-killing regulations, Obamacare is no way to grow an economy,” continued Dougherty. “We should be focused on getting the government out of the way so that the private sector can create jobs – not the opposite.”
