Republican Party of Wisconsin Files Complaint Against Madison Millionaire Mary Burke, Democratic Party of Wisconsin

[Madison, Wis.] – The Republican Party of Wisconsin filed a formal Complaint with the Government Accountability Board against Madison millionaire Mary Burke and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin regarding a recent statewide poll, which refused to disclose the person or organization making payment for the survey.  Burke is considering a run against Governor Scott Walker next year.

“As Democrats desperately work to defeat Scott Walker, they have recruited an out-of-touch Madison activist to wage an attack against the reforms that have put Wisconsin back on solid financial ground,” said Joe Fadness, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Unfortunately, they are apparently willing to violate the law as they conduct research testing Burke’s viability.”

As part of the poll, several message testing questions were asked, including whether voters would be more or less likely to vote for Burke given the following information:

“The first impression of Mary Burke is that she is out of touch with Main Street Wisconsin and places herself above the law. Voters deserve better, and I trust that the Government Accountability Board will resolve this issue in a timely and efficient manner,” Fadness said.
