Republican Party of Wisconsin Releases Web Video, “Democrats Divided Over Millionaire Mary Burke”

[Madison, Wis.] – The Republican Party of Wisconsin released a web video today titled, “Democrats Divided Over Millionaire Mary Burke,” highlighting the split between the would-be candidate for Governor handpicked by Party insiders against the will of the base.

The web video, which can be viewed here, shows the contrast between Democratic Party leaders and the base, which has been arguing for a more open process.

“Party bosses are holding backroom meetings in their attempt to find a candidate to run against Governor Walker, as the grassroots distances themselves from the closed-door process,” said Jesse Dougherty, Press Secretary for the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Democratic Party officials have been holding secret meetings with Mary Burke, and are testing her viability and candidacy for a run against Governor Scott Walker. State Democratic Party Chair Mike Tate even acknowledged the Party was lending Burke a helping hand, admitting that State Party officials are already staffing her to prepare for a run for Governor.

Burke, a liberal Madison activist, was a member of the failed Doyle Administration that left Wisconsin with billion dollar deficits, massive tax increases and record job loss – a mess that Scott Walker fixed.

“As Scott Walker and Republicans continue to focus on job creation, Democrats are fighting amongst themselves over a candidate who would take us back to the failed policies of the past,” said Dougherty.
