New Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to Join Staff

A new child and adolescent psychiatrist will join Rogers' psychiatric team on January 21, 2013 and will primarily work on the inpatient unit at Rogers' Oconomowoc location.

Rogers Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that Andrew Butchart, D.O., will join its psychiatric team on January 21, 2013. Dr. Butchart will serve as a staff psychiatrist, working with children and adolescents on the inpatient unit at Rogers’ Oconomowoc location.

A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Butchart has subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Ill. Dr. Butchart completed his residency in general psychiatry and fellowship in child psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he served as chief resident in child and adolescent psychiatry at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He also holds a degree in psychology from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis.

“I am looking forward to the possibilities at Rogers Memorial Hospital,” Dr. Butchart said. “I enjoy working with families to help them discover solutions during times of crisis. I often use cognitive-behavioral therapy to help families work together to achieve recovery. It’s always rewarding to see the positive results.”

Dr. Butchart’s primary clinical interests include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, mood disorders, autism and other pervasive developmental disorders. He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association and the Wisconsin
Medical Society
.

Prior to joining the staff at Rogers Memorial Hospital, Dr. Butchart served as a staff psychiatrist in a number of settings. Most recently, he worked with Mercy Options Behavioral Health Clinic in Williams Bay, Wis., where he provided outpatient care for children, adolescents and adults. He also served as a consultant for Willowglen Academy Day Treatment in Milwaukee and La Causa, Inc. Social Services in West Allis. Dr. Butchart has also provided outpatient care for Associated Mental Health Consultants in Wauwatosa.
