Rogers' Specialists to Present at National Anxiety and Depression Conference

Drs. Riemann, Halverson, Jacobi and Leonard Discuss Advanced Treatment Approaches

Several members of the psychiatric team at Rogers Memorial Hospital will offer their expertise during the 2014 Anxiety and Depression Conference March 27-30 in Chicago, Ill.  Sponsored by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), the conference features industry leaders from around the world and is the only national professional meeting that focuses on the science and treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression.

Among the foremost experts presenting are Rogers’ Bradley C. Riemann, Ph.D., clinical director of the OCD Center and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Services; Jerry L. Halverson, M.D., FAPA, medical director of Adult Services and FOCUS; along with clinical supervisors David M. Jacobi, Ph.D. and Rachel C. Leonard, Ph.D. The four will join some of the most experienced and knowledgeable clinicians and researchers from diverse disciplines to discuss advanced treatment approaches for mood and anxiety disorders.

  • March 28: Dr.  Halverson will chair the symposium, “Multimodal Approaches to Difficult-to-Treat Depression”; Dr. Leonard will discuss behavioral activation for the treatment of depression as well as speak at another symposium on symptom accommodation and relationship distress in anxiety and depression; Dr. Riemann will present as part of a roundtable session, “Exposure Therapy for Children: Lessons Learned in Intensive OCD Treatment.”

  • March 29: Dr. Halverson will chair the symposium, “Multimodal Approaches to Difficult-to-Treat OCD,” with Dr. Riemann addressing the use of exposure response therapy (ERP) with treatment-refractory OCD.

  • March 30: Dr. Riemann will speak at another symposium on family accommodation and OCD treatment outcomes, and Dr. Jacobi will present a workshop titled “Disordered Eating in Children: An exposure based treatment approach.”

  • Chad Wetterneck, Ph.D., clinical supervisor and cognitive behavior specialist at Rogers, and Sue McKenzie, co-director of Rogers InHealth, will also attend the event, where they will learn, share and network with some of the world’s premier colleagues in the industry.
