Schlitz Audubon Nature Center Announces Expanded Summer Hours & Exciting Evening Programming

Summer Breeze, School’s Out, Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer!  In honor of summer and the many classic songs celebrating the season, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center (SANC) will be expanding our regularly scheduled hours to accommodate evening visitors. Beginning on the summer solstice, Wednesday, June 20th and running through Thursday, August 30th, SANC will offer extended hours on Sundays through Thursdays from 9:00am to 8:00pm. Join us for a hike at sunset, watch for bats or fireflies, or explore the evening pond life in our wetlands.

“Some of the most magical moments at SANC occur in the early evenings,” said Nathan Smallwood, Executive Director. “We are keeping our doors open late during the summer as our way of saying ‘thanks’ to our members and visitors, and to encourage the public to take full advantage of this environmental treasure.”

Throughout the summer months, SANC will offer unique evening programs to target visitors of all ages, some of which include the following:
