TOPIC: The Ins and Outs of the Immigration Debate
Immigration issues figure prominently in politics worldwide with many passionate views:  closed door, open door, amnesty, enforcement, and more.  Do countries have a right to admit newcomers only under certain conditions? Does a country have a right to insist that its laws be respected and its culture honored?  Looking through the lens of Jewish law and tradition—and the Torah’s view that every human choice is cosmically significant—we will seek a deeper understanding of the real issues at hand. Our own Juliya Lotman will share her personal story as a Russian immigrant.
