Four Teachers Retire From Nicolet

Three of the four retirees have already been replaced with new hires.

Four teachers with a combined 72 years of experience have retired from Nicolet High School.

The School Board Monday accepted the resignations of Joyce Davis (English, 23 years), Aleta Gretenhardt (technology education, 9 years),  Abby McGurty (special education, 18 years), and Karyl Rosenberg (science, 22 years).

Replacements for three of the four retired teachers were approved by the board. Jaime Domski, a freshmen English teacher at Nathan Hale High School in West Allis, replaces Davis; Sarah Richter, a physics and physical science teacher at Union Grove High School, replaces Rosenberg; and Kristin Susedik, a special education teacher at Wauwatosa East High School, replaces McGurty.

The board made two other faculty moves. Laura Shea, a cognitive disabilities teacher at Oconomowoc High School, was hired because an additional cognitive disabilities program is included in the 2013-14 school year. The board also added Nicolet teacher Kasey Ehrke to the Academic Success Center (ASC). Ehrke was a .3 full-time equivalent social studies teacher; adding her to the ASC brought her to full-time status.

Additional hires will be needed. The district confirmed the following five teachers have resigned and accepted positions with other school districts: Erin Felber (physical education and health), Jeff Fishbach (ASC), Amie Heinzelman (physical education and health), Erik Meinhardt (ASC), and Melissa Trepte (science and AVID District Director).
