Fox Point-Bayside Schools "Significantly Exceed Expectations"

Nicolet and Maple Dale-Indian Hill school districts also exceeded the expectations set forth in the Department of Public Instruction's school report cards.

The Fox Point-Bayside School District was one of nine school districts in the state to "Significantly Exceed Expectations" in the Department of Public Instruction's recent school and district report card rankings.

With a district-wide score of 85.2, Fox Point-Bayside was ranked fifth among Wisconsin school districts. Stormonth Elementary School "significantly exceeded expectations" with a score of 89.3, and Bayside Middle School "exceeded expectations" with a score of 82.5.

The Maple Dale-Indian Hill School District "exceeded expectations" with a score of 79.9. Maple Dale School "exceeded expectations" with a 81.4, as did Indian Hill School with a score of 78.7.

Nicolet "exceeded expectations" with a score of 75.6.

This is the first year for district report cards and the second for school report cards. Twelve school districts in the state did not meet expectations or were not rated, 269 districts met expectations and 143 districts exceeded or significantly exceeded expectations.

Similar to the School Report Cards, which were released for the first time by the state last year, the District Report cards are based upon four main categories:

• Student Achievement: Proficiency in reading and mathematics on state assessments.

• Student Growth: Measured by year‐to-year improvements in achievement.

• Closing Gaps in performance between specific student groups (comparing English language learners, low-‐income students, students with disabilities, and members of a racial or an ethnic group with their peers).

• On-Track and Post-Secondary Readiness is a measurement using reliable predictors of high school graduation and potential post high school success.

Schools and districts are also evaluated on measures of student engagement, including their test participation rates, chronic absenteeism rates, and dropout rates.
