History Buffs From Nicolet Advance to State Competitions

Students will compete at the State Historical Society in Madison in May.

Seventeen students will advance to state level competitions on May 7, at the State Historical Society in Madison, after competing against 70 other teams in the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional competition for National History Day.

The theme this year was "Debate & Diplomacy: Successes, Failures, Consequences." From this theme, students pick a topic and dig in for some extensive research. After reading pages and pages from books, websites and multiple other sources, students compile original papers, websites, exhibits, performances and documentaries. The following students will move forward to the state competition:

Rachel and Alex Heuer:
Justice Harry Blackmun: Law and Medicine in Roe v. Wade
