Knights Update: Swimmers Show Well at WIAA State Meet

Rumbaugh takes sixth in 50 freestyle; climbs to second on school's fastest-times list.

Here is the Knights Update, a recap of the week in Nicolet High School athletics, from Athletic Director Kirk Krychowiak:

The girls swim/dive team was represented well at the WIAA State Meet last weekend.  Junior Christa Rumbaugh placed sixth in the 50 freestyle with the second-fastest time in school history. Christa also placed 13th in the 100 freestyle with the fourth-fastest time in school history. Junior Kim Charles was 24th in diving and the team placed 26th out of 84 teams.

The girls volleyball team has earned several post-season honors. Seniors Krystalyn Goode and Melissa Morello earned first-team all-conference honors as well as becoming the first players ever from Nicolet to be named first-team all-state!  Alex Lautmann also earned first-team All-Conference. Dana Kenney took home second-team honors while Angela Morello and Rebecca Olin captured honorable mention. Coach Dann Jacobson earned another Conference "Coach of the Year" award and Melissa Morello was named Conference "Player of the Year."

The Nicolet All-Sports Booster Club would like you to order Nicolet Spirit Wear.

The girls basketball team has created a "records page" on the Nicolet website that displays all sorts of season records, statistics and history concerning Nicolet girls basketball.

The winter sports teams — gymnastics, skiing, basketball, hockey, wrestling
and boys swim/dive — have all begun practicing (or will this week).
