Lady Knights Basketball Team Remains Undefeated

New alumni athletes section on Nicolet athletics website.

The Nicolet High School boys basketball team is now 2-4 after dropping a pair of games last week at Milwaukee Lutheran 46-45 and . Early this season, injuries have forced the Knights to play without their regular line-up and without much depth. In the 1-point loss to Lutheran, Eugene
Bonner scored 14 and Greg Pigg added 11 as the Knights comeback from a nine
point halftime deficit fell just short. Friday against Port, Bonner was again the
Knights leading scorer with 20 and Treland Jenkins scored 13. This week, the boys travel to Grafton High School on Tuesday and host Racine Horlick on Thursday. They will also play in the Luke Homan Memorial Holiday Tournament
at Brookfield Central Dec. 29 and 30.

The girls basketball team continues to be perfect with a pair of victories last week against Milwaukee Lutheran and . The Lady Knights beat Lutheran at home on Tuesday 44-30 behind 18 points from Brittney Fair and 11 from Briana Gray. Then the girls defeated Port on the road 38-17 with 14 from Fair and 12 from Becca Olin. The team is now ranked fourth and 5-0 (3-0 in conference) going into their home game Tuesday night vs. Grafton. The girls will then travel to Franklin High School for the Christine Rathke Memorial Tournament on Dec. 27, 28 and 29. JV will play in a tournament the same three days at Alverno College. The Journal Sentinel named the "Player of the Week" last week.

The boys swim and dive team lost to a combined West Bend team 95-91 and 87-69 in Varsity and JV competition last week Tuesday. Winning events for the Knights were Matt Bootsma, Evan Siverhus, Mike Mills, Grant Wilkie and Jamie DeGraff.

The last week but Jon McKay was victorious at 220 with a criteria overtime victory in the rematch of last year's conference championship. Other solid performances came from Bryan Dineen, Jordan Fisher, Wilhelm Fehlhaber, Jack Kalloch and Kenondre Walton-Cooper. Β This week, the team will travel to Homestead on Tuesday night then will compete in the Mid-States Wrestling Classics at UW-Whitewater on Dec. 28 and 29.

The Nicolet/ girls hockey co-op team faces Fond Du Lac at University School on Thursday then will compete in the Schwan Cup and the Schwan Super Rink on Dec. 28, 29 and 30.

The Nicolet/Whitefish Bay boys hockey co-op team defeated Greendale last week 11-3 to improve their overall record to 4-1-1. The team will skate next at the Kern Center vs. Brookfield on Wednesday then compete in the Admirals Cup tournament at Wilson Park on Dec. 23 and 26.

The gymnastics team lost to Menomonee Falls 132.975 to 122.65 in a road dual meet last week. The Knights score was an eight point improvement from their previous competition. In varsity action, Jessica Kloehn earned a third place
finish with an 8.125 on vault. Kim Charles took second on the beam with an 8.4
along with Valerie Whittle taking third with an 8.3. On the floor, Kloehn took second with a 9.15 and Charles third. In JV, Erin Kinney took first on vault with a 7.9 along with Haley Raj second with a 7.6. This week, the team travels to West Allis Hale for a dual meet on Wednesday with the combined West Allis Co-Op.

The Nicolet Dance Team traveled to Little Chute on Saturday to compete in the Little Chute Winter Invitational.
