About 50 North Shore residents seeking answers to their coyote questions during an informational hearing at Bayside Middle School Wednesday night, where Lynsey White Dasher, an urban wildlife specialist for The Humane Society of the United States, explained how coyotes end up in the North Shore area and what residents can do to protect their pets.

A burglary suspect that ran away from a Fox Point home was later identified by police because he dropped his wallet and cell phone in the JK Lee Black Belt Academy parking lot.

Fox Point police officers responded to the report of an attempted burglary in the 6700 block of Holly Court at 10:05 a.m. Jan. 30.

Congrats to National Champs from Bayside Middle School

A group of Bayside Middle School students have earned the moniker of national champions after not only placing first in the state, but first in the nation in a worldwide academic contest.

Competing against some 45,000 participants from thousands of schools around the globe, Bayside’s Knowledge Masters Open team dominated in contests in January and December, garnering top prizes.

Nicolet Renovating to Expand Special Education Program

Nicolet has bussed its severely cognitively-disabled students to Brown Deer, Shorewood or Whitefish Bay schools. But as the demand has grown for special education seats and those other North Shore schools have reached capacity, some schools' interest in continuing a co-op has waned, Nicolet Superintendent Rick Monroe said. Now, Nicolet is left to go it alone.
