Letter to the Editor: Theatre Director Pleads for Referendum Help

One Fox Point-Bayside Patch reader explains how dire the need is for the Nicolet referendum to pass at the April 5 election.

Editor's Note: Fox Point-Bayside Patch would love your 300-word letters to the editor.

For the past 29 years it has been my pleasure to direct the Theatre program.  We have produced play after play that made this community proud.  Many students and their families have benefited from and appreciated the quality of the program.  We have entertained the community at large and have presented special events for senior citizens ("A Taste of Fine Arts") and young children ("Cinderella").  It has been wonderful to work for a community that values the arts and understands that the arts are not a frill but contribute to a well-rounded education and the encouragement of creative minds.  The theatre program is proud to be a part of the fabric of this community.

Over the years students and adults have told me that if there is ever a time when the program needed their help, I should just ask and they would be there.

Well, everyone: THE TIME IS NOW!

As you may know there will be a to help maintain the quality of Nicolet High School.  Without passage, it is certain that the theatre program (and others) will suffer.  I need past and present theatre students, their parents, and our community audience to take action and vote "yes" for the referendum.  Beyond this, I need you to encourage other families and friends to vote "yes."  I need you to rally support wherever you can.  Kind thoughts and concern, while appreciated, are not enough--I need you to be active and vote.  Pass this message on and save the theatre program (and other programs) for future students.  The time is now--we must win this one.

Vote April 5th--Vote YES!

Sincerely,

Kenn Miller
Director of Theatre Arts
