Nicolet Alum Joins USM as Head Girls Tennis Coach

WIAA state champ brings expertise to University School.

Andrew Paley is joining as the Head Girls’ Tennis Coach for the 2011-2012 school year.

Paley was a four-time WIAA Division 1 State champion at and a member of the NHS Hall of Fame. After graduation, Paley attended the University of Saint Thomas where he finished up as a three-time, All-American and a member of the UST Hall of Fame.

“Andy is a local pro and comes to us highly recommended," USM Athletic Director Rick Johns said. "He is co-owner of Paley Tennis Center and Camps. His tennis background includes playing on the professional Men's Tennis Tour in the United States and Europe, as well as other teaching and coaching experiences that will help him oversee and grow our girls’ program."

Paley himself is enthusiastic to join the coaching staff, “I am very excited for the opportunity to work with a highly dedicated and very talented group of young adults. I am also looking forward to adding to an already very strong tradition of excellence at University School with a winning program.”

And Johns says USM is happy to have Paley join them.

“As an institution we were fortunate to have a strong applicant pool," Johns said. "We went through a diligent process and it quickly became clear that Andy is a coach with great skill as well as character. He is fair and conscientious, and I’ve never seen him without a smile on his face.”
