Nicolet Bids Farewell to Departing Superintendent Monroe Sunday

A community reception, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Nicolet High School Library, will honor the retiring Rick Monroe, who served six years as school chief.

Nicolet High School will bid farewell to departing Superintendent Rick Monroe Sunday during a special reception. 

The community reception is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. in the Nicolet library, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Rd. Ice cream will be served.

Although a RSVP is not required, organizers ask those who wish to attend give advanced notice to help with planning efforts by emailing monroecelebration@nicolet.k12.wi.us.  For those who wish to send a note, photo, or other memorabilia to be included in a memory book, or make a monetary contribution toward a gift (checks payable to Nicolet High School), send it to: Ferne Hecker, Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Rd., Glendale, WI 53217.

Monroe — who has been an educator since 1976 including in Milwaukee Public Schools, St. Francis and Shorewood — announced Dec. 17 he would retire from his role after six years at the helm.  

Menasha Joint School District school chief Robert Kobylski will take the helm as Nicolet superintendent next school year.
