Nicolet Hires New Superintendent

The Nicolet School Board selected current Menasha Joint School District school chief Robert Kobylski to take the helm as district administrator.

Robert Kobylski — current Menasha Joint School District school chief — will take the helm at Nicolet School District next school year, succeeding District Administrator Rick Monroe.

The Nicolet School Board unanimously approved hiring Kobylski Monday night. Following Monroe's announcement in December that he would retire at the end of the school year, the board hired , which aided in selecting a new superintendent. The board interviewed three candidates before settling on Kobylski. 

Kobylski has been superintendent of the Menasha Joint School District since 2010. Prior to that, he was superintendent and high school principal for Kohler Public Schools (2008-10), and high school principal for the Cedarburg School District (2006-08).

He began his career in education in 1996 as a principal and teacher for Chicago Public Schools, following a stint as an independent commodity trader and portfolio manager. He is a husband and father of six children. 

"It is a privilege to have been selected by the Nicolet High School District Board of Education to lead our outstanding district," Kobylski said in a statement. "I look forward to working side-by-side with the Nicolet community in order to build upon our proud tradition of academic excellence."

Kobylski will begin July 1 and will receive an annual salary of $153,900 plus benefits, according to Nicolet officials.
