Nicolet Students, Programs to Shine at Open House

Hip-hop dances and meet the teachers gives students and parents a different view of high school.

will hold its first ever open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The event is designed to give students and parents a look into all the different departments and activities available at Nicolet, from sports and clubs to academics and theatre.

"We are determined to show off Nicolet like it has never been shown off before," Principal Greg DePue said.

Featuring displays from many of the classes offered at Nicolet to a hip-hop dance rehearsals for "Cinderella," the open house offers a chance to really see what Nicolet has to offer. Here are just a few of the things you can expect to see:

  • The choir will perform in the library at 6:35 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
  • Vignettes from the musical "Urinetown" will be performed at 6:15 p.m., 6:55 p.m. and 7:35 p.m.
  • Nicolet "spirit-wear" can be purchased throughout the evening at the Knights store.
  • The orchestra and band will have alternating performances every half hour throughout the evening, beginning at 6 p.m.

Many extracurricular programs and clubs will also be represented at the open house, some of which include the Animal Rights Club, Chess Team, Forensics, Gay/Straight Alliance, Glee Club, Jewish Student Union, Math Club, National Honors Society and Spanish Club.
