Snow-Related School And Business Cancelations

The weather has prompted a number of area cancellations. Here's what you need to know.

The snow is flying and cars crashes are all over the place. Here are a few handy links to stay on top of things. Our media partners at WISN Channel 12 are calling the storm the biggest of the season.

  • 3:23 p.m. -- lights out on Highway 11 and Oakes Road. WE Energies is reporting that 17 of their customers are without power.

All after-school activities for Racine Unified schools are canceled.

According to an email from Spokesperson Stacy Tapp:

Due to the inclement weather, all after-school activities for this afternoon/evening are canceled, including Lighted Schoolhouse and the Middle School Afterzones Program. The Red Apple Elementary Magnet School Orientation is also canceled.

Due to the hazardous weather conditions, the Racine Public Library is closing today at 3:30pm. Tonight's program will be rescheduled. All materials due at the main library today will now be due tomorrow, February 8, 2013; all materials due at the Mobile Library today will now be due next Thursday, February 14, 2013.

St. Michael's church has cancelled the prayer group and vestry meetings tonight.
