The Village Scrapbook: Catholic Schools Week at St. Eugene

Submissions from residents showcasing a day-in-the-life in Fox Point and Bayside.

Students at St. Eugene School had a chance to have a little more fun than usual at school, while being reminded of our mission as a Catholic School.

Since service is a central part of how we live out our faith as Catholics, the students brought in donations for the Foundation for Children with Cancer and St. Ben’s Valentine Bag Drive.

Each day of the week there were special activities; Students met with their Junior Olympic teams for breakfast and created thank you notes for their parents, played Trivia & Bingo over the loudspeaker, Skyped with another St. Eugene School out of Chicago, IL, and cheered on the teachers at the much anticipated annual volleyball game against the eighth-graders!

Students were joined by grandparents and special friends for mass on Thursday followed by an ice cream social in Mackin Hall.  During Mass we honored a very special person Shirley Fredrickson who has been volunteering here at St. Eugene School for 40 years! All eight of Mrs. Fredrickson’s children attended St. Eugene School! Our community is so blessed to have the generosity of such a wonderful volunteer. Thank you Mrs. Fredrickson!
