Whiz Kid of the Week: Maple Dale Fifth Grade D.A.R.E. Graduates

After learning about the dangers of drugs, these fifth-graders got to check out a Fox Point police car.

Accomplishment:
After 10 weeks spent learning about drugs, alcohol and tobacco from Fox Point police officer Kyle Arendt, Mary Moliere's fifth-graders graduated with flying colors.

Key to Awesomeness:
The wrote an essay to demonstrate what they had learned and their understanding of the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, and to demonstrate the awareness of how people are influenced to use these chemicals. 

"Students learned how people are enticed to use these chemicals," Moliere said. "Students also learned how to resist the influences and to stand up for themselves."
