Lakeshore Lacrosse Wins Playoff Game; No. 2 Middleton Next

Lakeshore co-op dominates Kenosha 13-1.

The Lakeshore Lacrosse team easily handled Kenosha 13-1 in their first game of the state tournament playoffs on Tuesday at Shorewood High School.

Anders Bjella and Dante Giacobassi led all scorers with four and three goals, respectively. Kenosha was unable to get past Lakeshore's strong defense and only managed four shots on goal in the first half.  Goalie Quinn Mooney was able to stop every Kenosha opportunity until late in the fourth quarter.

Coach Tom Gough was pleased with his team's performance during their first playoff test.  "The team continues to show great progress on ball movement on offense and solid play on defense," Gough said.  "The transition game (Tuesday) was as strong as it has been all season with assisted goals coming from several outstanding feeds by both the attack and midfield. If we had statistics for double assists like hockey, our LSM and defense would have accounted for 4 of them."

Lakeshore's next playoff game is against Middleton at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Cardinals are ranked No. 2 in the state, according to LaxPower.com.
