Nicolet Girls Seeded No. 1 in Basketball Regional

Also in this competitive regional are Hamilton (No. 4 seed) and Menomonee Falls (No. 7)

A dominating regular season led the Nicolet Knights to a No. 1 seed in the WIAA Division 1 girls basketball regional.

Pairings were drawn Sunday and the Knights (19-2) picked up a bye and face the winner of Germantown and Waukesha North on March 12.

Nicolet has lost only to Pius β€” ranked No. 1 in the state at the time β€” and Montini Catholic of Illinois. The Knights are 13-0 in the North Shore Conference with an astonishing victory margin of 33.6 points per game. Four players average in double figures, according to WisSports.net, led by Ashley Green (17.6).

Homestead, from the North Shore Conference, is just 6-15. The Highlanders and Indians played a non-conference game back on Dec. 3, with Menomonee Falls taking a 53-49 decision.
