Three-Peat: Nicolet Takes Another State Rugby Title

The Nicolet rugby team took its third straight Division 1 rugby title on June 1.

After beating Whitefish Bay 29-12 in the state semifinal, the Nicolet ruggers advanced to the finals to play Muskego. The game started out tough as each side battled for ball possession with hard rucking and punishing tackles.

With one min remaining in the game, Nicolet RFC found itself down 19-17. As time ticked away, Muskego was awarded possession with a line out on their goal line. Nicolet's defense came up fast, causing a series of mishandled balls. The ball eventually came loose and Tyler Crass touched it down, securing the go-ahead score and ultimately winning the game.
