Five Nicolet Swimmers Head To State Competition Saturday

The hard work paid off and several boys on the Nicolet High School swim team will be in the state competition Saturday.

The Nicolet High School boys swim team placed 4th in the WIAA Division 1 Sectional meet held Saturday at their school.

The team earned 227 points and several members of the team will now head to the state competition on Friday.

Nicolet High School Senior Evan Siverhus received first place and freshman Jeremy Moser earned second place in the boys’ 1-meter diving event. Senior Kyle Siverhus also placed 4th in the diving competition.

Sophomore Michael Mills also placed first in the boys’ 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. In the 500 event Mills time of 4:48.31 landed him on Nicolet’s top 5 board. Jamie DeGraff also qualified for state in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.

The WIAA Division 1 State Meet is Saturday in Madison. The State Meet is on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium. Diving at 10 a.m. followed by swimming at 3 p.m.
