Nicolet Golf- Come join us!

I am a Nicolet dad who has two children at Nicolet High School and I grew up in the area.  I made the move up north after going to school at WFB High School.  I am all in on supporting the community.  That is why I am writing this blog to get people aware of our 5th Annual Nicolet All-Sports Golf Outing July 13 at Fire Ridge.  We feel fortunate to have raised over $50,000 for all our 27 sports at Nicolet.  It is a scramble format, for those unfamiliar, you all hit a shot then go to the best shot and all hit from there so don't worry if you are not ready for the PGA, this is a fun outing for a good cause. 

I am a fan of all sports and golf is the closest I come to doing anything similar to how a pro would do it.  I could never dunk a basketball, master the breaking ball in baseball, run with Usain Bolt or dominate on the hockey rink.  But I have hit a golf shot as good as the pros do and I bet you have too.  Have you ever chipped one in, rolled in a 20 foot bender, smoke one down the middle?  In golf you can hit a shot that cannot be topped by anyone and the chance of doing that while standing over the ball makes the game of golf so exciting.  You just can't do it as often as the pros.

I want to hear about your best golf shot.  I want to spread the word on this golf outing since I want to help out Nicolet.  Tell me your best shot and tell your friends about this great golf outing.  Oh, fyi for those who don't want to play 18 holes, for the first time we are offering a 9 hole option, then take part in a wine tasting get together while the rest of the golfers finish up their back nine.  We are offering lunch, dinner, raffles, beat the pro and contests galore on the course.  So Nicolet students, moms and dads and all the Nicolet alumni come on out on July 13 and have some fun on the course and get together with some old friends.  Hit the ball around, have a couple cocktails and raise some money for the Nicolet programs. 

My shot that was as good as anyone's was when I was 13 yrs. old playing with my mom in mater-filius tournament where you hit every other shot with your mom.  She put me in the left rough 220 yards from the pin and I hooked a 4 wood (persimmon) landing it 10 yards in front of the green, it bounced strait, speedily heading toward the pin, bam, it hit the pin and fell in.  Mr. Brennan screamed with his huge deep roar, Danny couldn't believe it and my mom gave me a big hug.  We got a 2 on a par 4, an eagle and it felt great!
