Milwaukee, WI -  March 12, 2013 -  Junior Achievement’s  JA BizTown, 11111 West Liberty Drive, Milwaukee, added Culver’s “479th”  restaurant to their fully-interactive simulated town in an official “Grand Opening” ceremony hosted by the town’s student mayor.

While the restaurant will not offer the traditional menu of a real Culver’s, it will be part of a curriculum that allows students to learn skills they’ll need as adults.  They have jobs, earn paychecks and manage a variety of “real” businesses. The program helps students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.

The simulated restaurant in JA BizTown is possible through a $150 thousand Culver’s sponsorship over the next five years. Restaurant chain co-founders, Craig and Lea Culver participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Tuesday, March 12 at 11111 West Liberty Drive, Milwaukee, WI.

“Lea and I are honored that Culver’s will be part of JA BizTown. Through the years our restaurants have been a training ground for many first time employees”, says Craig.  “Learning how business really works is exciting.  The JA BizTown experience is a great opportunity for students to gain insight and understanding of the business world and we’re looking forward to this opening”, added Craig.

“At JA BizTown we are able to engage students in a meaningful and memorable way that allows them to learn the skills they will need as adults. We are thankful for our generous partners like Culver’s who help Junior Achievement empower more students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied to their futures,” says  Tim Greinert, President of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
