Lakeshore Chills Wildcat Laxmen
The University School boys lacrosse team lost to Lakeshore 18-4 Monday.
The University School boys lacrosse team lost to the Lakeshore co-op team 18-4 Monday at USM.
The Wildcats played well early, keeping the game close. However, the talented Lakeshore club eventually overwhelmed them, gaining the upper hand and the victory.
After the game, USM head coach Greg Roberts said, “This afternoon we played a very strong team. Once again our opponent controlled the faceoff spot and thus controlled most of the flow of the game. Lakeshore scored the first and second goals. We responded. At the end of the first quarter we were only down 5-3. By halftime we were down 9-3, and the game got away from us once again. The coaches felt we played with much more effort than we’ve shown in the past; some lineup changes assisted in that movement. The refs let the young gentleman play. That added to a quicker style of play, which led to more of our players seeing playing time throughout the game. Once again, faceoffs and groundballs continue to hinder our young team. We will work on them.”
