USM Girls Lacrosse Player Selected for All-American Showcase

A USM girls lacrosse player was the only girl chosen for the 2012 US Lacrosse All-American Showcase held in July.

Kelly Brethauer, a recent graduate of University School, has been selected by US Lacrosse to compete in the 2012 Champion All-American Showcase.  Brethauer is the only girl from Wisconsin picked to participate in this prestigious US Lacrosse event.

The Champion All-American Showcase is played as part of the ESPNHS Games and features the nation’s elite high school players, representing all corners of the United States. Players are nominated and selected by high school coaches throughout the country to compete in a four-team format over three days, July 22nd -24th, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Brethauer was a captain of the 2012 USM girls lacrosse team.   A midfielder, Brethauer led the team with 36 goals during the season, scoring on 53% of her shots.   Her efforts during her senior season contributed to a successful 12-4 record for the Wildcats.  Next year, Brethauer will continue her lacrosse career by playing for the College of Wooster in Wooster, OH.
