Wildcat Tennis Team Prepares for State with Win in Dick Arnold Invitational

The University School boys tennis team won the Dick Arnold Invitational Satuurday.

The University School boys’ tennis team won the Dick Arnold Invitational hosted by Waukesha South High School at the Heyer/Wojahn Tennis Complex in Waukesha on Friday and Saturday

Playing against all Division 1 opponents, the Wildcats won the 2 Singles, 4 Singles, and 1 Doubles flights.  They also took second place in the 3 Singles, 2 Doubles, and 3 Doubles flights; and third place in the 1 Singles flight, thereby amassing the most team points in the Invitational.

An enthused Russ Trimble, head coach of the USM team, said, “Wow! We didn't really expect this. We were going to use this meet as a warm up for our subs on Monday to help us get ready. The kids totally stepped up their games and beat some tough competition. Brookfield East changed up their lineup to get some of their players to state, but that didn't make them any less competitive. Eau Claire Memorial and Arrowhead were also tough opponents. We are as ready as we can be for the state tournament. This is what we have been working for all year.”
