Wildcats Blister Bay in Boys Tennis

The University School boys tennis team defeated Whitefish Bay 5-2 Monday.

The University School boys tennis team defeated Whitefish Bay 5-2 in a dual match at USM Monday.

As they have done all spring, the Wildcats continued to take on, and frequently beat, top Division 1 opponents.  Whitefish Bay is currently ranked 7th in the state in Division 1.

USM’s head coach Russ Trimble commented: “What can I say: freezing. I don't know who thought tennis was a summer sport. We really battled Bay in doubles today. All our players dropped the first set, and only Zach Schneck and Andrew Buchanan were able to come back and win. Two Doubles struggled and One Doubles fought hard, only to come up short.  They had a number of opportunities but let them get away. Michael Lukas started his match late because both he and his opponent had AP tests. Michael started off down 4-1 and then decided to come back and play smarter tennis to win a great match.”
