Wildcats Wins USM Tennis Quadrangular

The University School boys’ tennis team won the University School Quad held Friday and Saturday at USM.

The Wildcats won all three of their matches against three Division 2 opponents in the quadrangular meet. On Friday, they defeated Appleton Xavier, 7-0. Then on Saturday, they first defeated Shorewood, 7-0; later they defeated Madison Edgewood, 7-0.

After the last match, USM’s head coach Russ Trimble said, “The USM boys really performed well this weekend. They didn't lose one match against their competition.  Kern Khanna fought hard in his last match to come up with our twenty-first win. This was a case where the team needed to focus hard and work on different aspects of their game. If you loose that focus, it is easy to get lazy and develop bad habits. Next week will be back to stiffer competition with Prairie School and of course the Nicolet Sweet Sixteen and more D1 competition.”

USM’s next match is in the prestigious Sweet Sixteen Tournament hosted by Nicolet on Friday and Saturday.  The Wildcats are scheduled to begin the tournament at noon Friday at USM.
