MADISON – Another day, another Wisconsin law enforcement officer in legal trouble.
Brian Thomson was a La Crosse police lieutenant before resigning Tuesday after his arrest on misconduct and drug charges, according to the La Crosse Tribune.

Regardless of the outcome of the cases — early retirement, no official charges, guilty or not-guilty pleas — Wisconsin taxpayers will be on the hook for years to come for the public officials’ Wisconsin Retirement System benefits.
