Village officials say it is strange to see such a high percentage of votes turned in before voters can even get an absentee ballot in person.
With little more than three weeks before the Nov. 6 election, both Fox Point and Bayside are seeing an unusually high number of requests for absentee ballots. "Usually we don't have that much traffic. To have that amount of people coming in already, is just very surprising to us." Voters have been able to physically go to their village clerk and fill out a form requesting an absentee ballot be mailed to them. However, starting on Monday, regular absentee voting begins and voters can pick up their ballot in person. Pederson said usually there …

Testing done in advance of the April 3 General Election has discovered a flaw in the election ballots sent to many cities and municipalities in Milwaukee County, but Fox Point and Bayside hadn't received theirs yet so they remain unaffected.
As if city clerks didn’t already have enough on their plates, along comes the case of the misprinted ballots. Luckily, Fox Point and Bayside missed that bullet. Testing done in advance of the April 3 General Election has discovered a flaw in the election ballots sent to many cities and municipalities in Milwaukee County. "The error with the ballots was discovered before Fox Point’s ballots had been delivered so we do not have any flawed ballots," Tanya O'Malley, Fox Point Village Clerk said. Bayside's Director of Finance and Administration Lynn Galyardt said said she was scheduled to test the ballots Tuesday for both Milwaukee and Ozaukee Counties, however, she will now have to reschedule the Milwaukee County test. Candidates say it's all about turnout, and both village clerks say they're ready to go.
After weeks of going door-to-door, volunteers tirelessly making phone calls day after day, and both candidates shaking hands and smiling for interviews, Election Day has arrived. Beginning 7 a.m. Tuesday, voters will hit the polls to choose between incumbent Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) and her challenger, Rep. Sandy Pasch (D-Whitefish Bay). For weeks, both have been filling Facebook with 'thanks you's' and photos, and tweeting about events information and election details in an effort to find the last few votes. While each has drastically different viewpoints on government, they both agree on one thing, it's all about turnout for this election, and both Fox Point and Bayside village clerks agree, it's going to be one busy day …
