Keep an Eye Out for Pink Eye, Prevent it With these Tips

The American Academy of Ophthalmology offers information to parents about the prevention of pink eye.

Free Oatmeal Thursday at McDonald's

In honor of kids hitting the books, McDonald's, including the Fox Point location, is offering oatmeal to students from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday.

The Local Fox Point McDonald's, in addition to another 123 other restaurants in Southeastern Wisconsin, will be offering up free fruit and maple oatmeal to students from 6 to 9 a.m. Thursday to mark the new school year.  Customers are asked to either bring a student I.D., or be accompanied by and adult.  This oatmeal breakfast is filled with a half cup of fruit including raisins, cranberries and red and green apples.  "McDonald's is committed to the well-being of children in the communities we serve and offering our customers the best quality, on-the-go food choices to meet their everyday nutritional needs," said Robert Pyles, local McDonald’s owner/operator and president of the southeastern Wisconsin co-op in a press release. Photos: Indian Hill Back to School Ice Cream Social

Youngsters and their families dropped off school supplies and checked out the new playground equipment at Indian Hill before school kicks off next week. Oh yeah, and there was some ice cream, too.

Dozens of students scattered behind Indian Hill Elementary School Wednesday helping themselves to ice cream sundaes filled with cookies, marshmallows, chocolate syrup and a little bit of ice cream.  Sponsored by the Maple Dale-Indian Hill PTO, students got some time to meet their new teachers, drop off school supplies and try out the new playground equipment.  Did you snap a few pictures at the social? The first day of school is next week, which means kids will once again be biking and walking to and from school.
