Fox Point Takes International Tennis Spotlight
Town Club hosting 37th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic Friday through Sunday featuring players from 19 countries. Tournament founder and Fox Point resident Chas Mulcahy said he just can't imagine his life without the MTC.
Fox Point jumped into the international spotlight Friday when the Town Club opened its doors for the 37th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic. The round-robin tournament features both men and women from seven different universities including Marquette University, UW-Wisconsin Madison, Ball State, DePaul, Detroit Mercy, Western Michigan and Xavier and will continue through Sunday. That tradition of gender equality goes back to the tournaments very beginning founder and Fox Point resident, Chas Mulcahy said. "We’re very proud and very unique in our history that men and women were treated equally for the last 37 years," Mulcahy said.
