BP released a list of stations that received gasoline known to cause problems in vehicles. The station in Fox Point is among the dozens in Wisconsin to receive the off-specification fuel.
BP has released a list of stations that sold tainted gasoline related to refinery problem at its Whiting, IN plant and one Fox Point BP station is on the list. The station that received some of the fuel, which was known to cause problems in some vehicles, is at 501 W. Brown Deer Rd. The stations listed did receive gasoline associated with problems related to the alkylation unit at BP’s Whiting refinery, BP said on a special response site created to offer information on the tainted gasoline. Once the problem was identified, stations were instructed to stop selling the gasoline and to clean the tanks, BP said. Not all consumers who purchased gasoline at the stations may have purchased the problem fuel. BP said not all cars fueled with the …

After he told police he thought the gas at Open Pantry was free, he whipped out a fist full of cash and tried to pay the cop for the gas he took off with.
A Milwaukee man tried to pay an officer for the gas he took off with after explaining that he thought the gas was free. His explanation didn't hold up when the Open Pantry clerk said he pressed the "Pay Inside" button before filling up and taking off. According to the report: Fox Point police got a call from an Open Pantry employee at 6:23 p.m. Thursday that someone had just driven off with $40.01 of gas without paying. The clerk said the car was heading southbound on North Port Washington Road. Police caught up with the car that matched the description from the clerk and pulled it over. The officer asked the driver, a 20-year-old man from Milwaukee, if he had forgotten to pay for the gas he just got at Open Pantry. He quickly showed a …

The convenience store giant is purchasing every Open Pantry in the nation, including the one inside the BP gas station on the corner of Brown Deer and Port Washington Roads but it's unclear if this store will remain an Open Pantry or become a 7-Eleven.
Say ‘Goodbye’ to the Open Pantry and ‘Hello’ to the Big Gulp - but maybe not in Bayside. 7-Eleven Inc. is purchasing almost all of the 26 Open Pantry Food Marts in Wisconsin and Illinois, and that includes the one located in the BP gas station in Bayside on the corner of Brown Deer and Port Washington Roads. However, Village Manager Andy Pederson said he's not sure if this store will stay a BP or be remodeled into a 7-Eleven. "They said there were going to be five locations retained by Open Pantry, this is what we were told over the phone, one of them being Bayside," Pederson said. "It caught all of us off-guard because usually you don't get that far in the process and then get a call saying 'We're pulling our application.'" Pederson said…

Mom and dad tell police they "had enough" after teen's numerous problems with the law.
After a Fox Point teenager's many run-ins with the law, his parents finally decided it was time for an intervention — so they turned him into the cops after he had taken their Visa card. Around 10 p.m. on Oct. 10, a mother and father stopped into the Fox Point police station to report that their 17-year-old son had stolen a Visa debit card and used it twice at an ATM machine. According to police reports: The mom said she remembered using the card the previous day around 3 p.m. and on Oct. 10, couldn't find the card anywhere. She checked her online banking records and discovered two ATM transactions — one for $40 and one for $60 at the BP gas station, 501 W. Brown Deer Rd. The father said he had contacted their son via text message, asking …
