Fox Point Cites Attempted Burglar With Trespassing, Littering

Police were able to identify the man because he dropped his wallet and cell phone at the Fox Point Shoppes.

A burglary suspect that ran away from a Fox Point home was later identified by police because he dropped his wallet and cell phone in the JK Lee Black Belt Academy parking lot. Fox Point police officers responded to the report of an attempted burglary in the 6700 block of Holly Court at 10:05 a.m. Jan. 30. The homeowner told police he was typing at his computer in the kitchen when he saw a man wearing two hoodie sweatshirts crouching next to the Weber grill on his patio. When the homeowner spotted him, the suspect fled westbound into the woods behind the home. Porn Burglar Gets Prison Time for Home Break-in

A Menomonee Falls man who broke into a home and looked up porn while the family was asleep gets prison as part of his sentence.

The Menomonee Falls man who broke into a Fox Point home and looked up pornography will spend the next three years in prison. Otha Smith, 50, was sentenced by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Michael Guolee Wednesday to three years in prison and three years of extended supervision for breaking into the home in April. Early one April morning, a family living in the 7800 block of North Club Circle contacted Fox Point police after they were awakened by someone going through drawers in the downstairs portion of their house. Burglar Snatches Purse From Woman's Home

This is the third report of a Fox Point home burglarized in as many weeks and police are investigating a possible fourth incident that took place just hours after this home was hit.

A string of recent home burglaries have Fox Point police reminding residents to lock their doors.  Around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 8, a homeowner in the 7300 block of North Seneca Road called police to report that someone had been in her home the night before without her knowledge.  She told police sometime between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., someone came into her home and took her purse, which was lying on a chair in the kitchen about six feet east of the unlocked front door. Burglars Strike Two Fox Point Homes While Homeowners Sleep

Police are investigating these two burglaries along with a recent series of others in Shorewood, Whitefish Bay and the east side of Milwaukee.

Two Fox Point homes were burglarized in late September while the owners slept just rooms away.  A woman in the 7100 block of North Fairchild Circle called Fox Point police about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 29 when she caught the burglar running from her home.  The homeowner told police she was at a friends house earlier in the evening on and returned home about 10 p.m., according to the police report. She said she stayed up and watched TV for awhile before going to bed. At 11:30 p.m., she was awakened by her dog loudly barking, which was unusual, she told police. More Than $14,500 in Silverware and Jewelry Stolen From Bayside Home

Two full sets of silverware she received as a wedding present in 1967 and jewelry from her mother-in-law were taken from her home.

A 71-year-old Bayside woman in the 800 block of East Hermitage Road was the victim of some extensive thievery, including thousands of dollars worth of sterling silver silverware and heirloom jewelry.  According to the report: She called Bayside police on Aug. 22 to report that sometime between July 1 and Aug. 22, someone had come into her home and taken two sets of sterling silver silverware and a bag of jewelry.  She said she was entertaining friends for lunch and went to the hallway closet to get her special silverware. When she opened the first box, she found all the silverware was gone, except for four butter knives. She found the second box empty as well, except for a small spoon. Milwaukee Man Charged in 2011 Burglary of Fox Point's Aurora Clinic

Michael George Jones, 30, allegedly stole electronics from the health care clinic just one week after the items were installed. If convicted, he faces up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

A 30-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a Fox Point health care clinic in July 2011 and stole electronic items recently installed as part of a renovation. Michael George Jones was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: An employee coming to work on July 21, 2011, at the Aurora Health Care Clinic, 8675 N. Port Washington Rd., arrived to find a window smashed and two, 70-inch flat screen televisions sitting outside. Suspect broke into a Fox Point home and looked up pornography on the family computer early Saturday morning. He's facing charges in Milwaukee County Court.

A 50-year-old Menomonee Falls man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a Fox Point home Saturday and began looking up pornography on a computer. Otha L. Smith Jr. was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Monday with one count of burglary and one count of possession of burglarious tools. Two Teens Caught in Theft of Parent's Jeep

They tried to burglarize a Fox Point garage, then led police on a chase using the K9 unit that ended near Cardinal Stritch University.

After a lengthy chase through Fox Point, a Whitefish Bay and Glendale teen were cited after stealing a jeep and rummaging through a Fox Point garage. At 7 p.m. Jan. 8, a woman in the 200 block of West Indian Creek Court in Fox Point returned home to find a young man running down her driveway from the open garage, jump into a Jeep and take off. According to the Fox Point police report, the driver of the Jeep actually waved to the homeowner as she drove into the driveway. After the teen took off, she went into the garage and noticed the passenger-side door of her husband's car was ajar. A leather wallet with no money in it was missing from the car. Two Local Pharmacies Targeted in Just Four Days

Fox Point police have partial fingerprints, but no suspects yet.

Two Fox Point pharmacies were hit by criminals within just a four-day period, resulting in a lot of broken glass and missing baby formula. Fox Point Police Chief Tom Czaja said he does not believe there is any connection between the incidents. Broken glass at CVS Pharmacy The first burglary happened around 6:30 a.m. Aug. 14, when an officer noticed the emergency exit glass door at the CVS Pharmacy in the River Point Shopping Center didn't quite look right. There was shattered glass lying on the sidewalk and inside the store, along with a small, silver, metal flashlight lying inside the shattered glass on the sidewalk the report said.
