Pizza Man to Open on Downer Avenue this Summer

More than three years after it went up in flames, the popular East Side restaurant will once again serve up slices come June.

More than three years after a four-alarm fire destroyed the East North Avenue mainstay, Pizza Man will make its much-anticipated return to Milwaukee's east side this summer. A few blocks south of the Shorewood border, Mike Amidzich hopes to open the restaurant in June at the corner of North Downer Avenue and East Belleview Place, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Carol Deptolla writes. Pizza Man will fill the first and second floors of the building and include a second-story patio for outdoor dining.  The owner tells Deptolla he is still working out the menu, which will include some old customer favorites and some vegetarian options, but the restaurant will continue to offer his notable, award-winning wine menu.
