This is the fourth year for the outing and has raised nearly $15,000 in prevoius years. The money goes to improving athletic facilities, spirit wear and equpiment neeeds. “The donations have helped us upgrade the scoreboards in the gym, and things such as improve the well being of Nicolet’s athletic teams,” Athletic Director Kirk Krychowiak said. Ted Wachs won't be involved in sports at Nicolet High School for the first time in nearly half a century.
History is nothing more than names and dates, woven together by their relationships. Nicolet High School history is simply Ted Wachs. After coaching five different sports over 46 years, this former history teacher is a walking archive. An unreformed storyteller, Wachs drops names of soccer goalkeepers from 25 years ago with the same ease that he mentions the famous folks he has met while working at The Bog Golf Course. “He seems to know a goodly number of people he’s met, he remembers their names, he can carry on good conversations with them,” said Jim Liska, who was the athletic director at Nicolet for 12 years. Wachs retired from coaching at the end of the spring boys golf season, closing a career that began unexpectedly in 1966. He’d …

Can you beat golf pro Frank Wolf?
Get your clubs ready, because Saturday is Nicolet High School's third annual golf outing. With hopes to raise over $20,000 this year, Athletic Director Kirk Kyrchowiak dubs this as the "biggest fundraiser of the year." Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Silver Spring Country Club, N56 W21318 Silver Spring Rd., in Menomonee Falls. Tee time is 11 a.m. But this event isn't just a round of golf. Lunch and a special dinner are also included, along with the chance to Beat the Pro, if you can drop your score below that of Frank Wolf. There will also be an auction, raffle, putting challenge and ball drop. Finally, there's a hole-in-one challenge. Sink your ball in that cup, and you may walk away with a brand new 2011 vehicle courtesy of local…

Get a hole-in-one and you could win a brand new car.
Nicolet High School's All-Sports Booster Club is hoping to $20,000 for the school’s athletic programs through its third annual Golf Outing scheduled for June 18 at the Silver Spring Country Club, N56 W21318 Silver Spring Rd., in Menomonee Falls. Tee time is 11 a.m. Dubbed as Nicolet's “biggest fundraiser of the year,” athletic coordinator Kirk Krychowiak says the event is critical to maintaining facilities, equipment and coaching for the high school’s sports teams. The athletic program budget has been cut by 30 percent over the past few years and as a result, finding money for coaching clinics, new uniforms and other necessities has become difficult Krychowiak said. "Because of the economy the way it is, the Booster Club used to be a …
