In about a 12-hour time span, 32 cars crashed along the interstate. That's more than five times the normal daily average of freeway accidents.
Between 5 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday, there were 32 car accidents along the Milwaukee County freeway system. That's more than five times the normal daily average for freeway accidents according to a press release from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Monday. In the North Shore, there were two major accidents including: Out of the 32 accidents Monday, 17 were property damage only, 10 involved injuries and five did not involve any damage according to the release. Usually there are only an average of three to six accidents per day. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office suggests allowing greater stopping distances and driving at reduced speed in reduced visibility situations like Monday's thick fog.

Glendale Police are looking for help in identifying two armed suspects who robbed a local bank Thursday, and there's a hefty reward if your tip leads to an arrest. The North Shore Crime Stoppers — a group of citizens who raise funds as cash rewards for people able to furnish information about crime — is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the robbery. The fitness company, run by a Fox Point native, has two locations in Brookfield and one each in Mequon and Glendale. It will acquire Le Club in Glendale, bringing many options the current Glendale location doesn't have to North Shore fitness aficionados.
Elite Sports Clubs will deepen its roots in the North Shore by bringing another club to Glendal. Thursday, Elite announced it will acquire Le Club of Glendale by month-end, bringing to five the number of locations for the company that just celebrated its 25th anniversary. His friend noticed he passed out in the car and stopped at McDonald's for help.
Fox Point and Bayside police arrived at McDonald's, 8739 N. Port Washington Rd. for a report of a man not breathing in the parking lot just before 7 a.m. on March 12. According to the report: The driver, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, told police he had picked up his friend in Mequon and while driving to Milwaukee, he passed out so he pulled over to get help. While the North Shore Fire Department loaded the man into the ambulance, a Fox Point officer noticed a syringe on the ground directly under the back bumper of the car. The man who had been driving told police after he pulled over, he began CPR on his friend. Halee Ludowise-Fischer and Jennifer Geren will be remembered this week by friends and family.
Halee Ludowise-Fischer and Jennifer Geren passed away early Saturday morning after a single car accident. Both girls were only 15 years old. Amid colorful bouquets of flowers, candles and notes from loved ones, dozens gathered Tuesday evening to remember the girls who died so young. Services for Jennifer Geren will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Congregation Sinai, 8223 N. Port Washington Rd., Fox Point. Services will be held for Halee Ludowise-Fischer on Saturday at St. Monica's Church, 160 E. Silver Spring Dr., Whitefish Bay. Father of one of the victims thought was was house-sitting for her mother at time of crash.
While friends and family try to cope with the loss of Halee Ludowise-Fischer and Jennifer Geren, investigators have discovered new information surrounding the accident that ended the lives of two 15-year-old Nicolet students early Saturday morning. A Milwaukee County medical examiner's report released Monday said Ludowise-Fischer had last spoken to her father just before 10 p.m. Saturday, according to the Journal Sentinel. She was supposed to be house-sitting in Brown Deer for her mother, who was not home at the time. "The two (Fischer and her father) were texting each other at midnight. $12.5 million projects forces some temporary, single-lane closures.
The Department of Transportation has issued updates on the bridge constructions in Fox Point and Bayside that leaves numerous blaze orange cones scattered along the roadway and tends to slow traffic. Three bridges that cross Interstate 43 including Green Tree Road, Good Hope Road and Brown Deer Road, have been worked on since the beginning of April and according to a press release by the DOT, have cost $12.5 to update. The Good Hope and Brown Deer bridges have been completely replaced, totaling roughly 1,500 feet of reconstruction. The Green Tree bridge only required a new epoxy overlay.
