Poll: Are Gift Cards Efficient or Impersonal?

National Retail Federation says gift cards at the top of consumer wish lists for five years now.

While some waited in line for hours outside Best Buy for Black Friday deals, and others take a warmer approach, sitting in front of their computers today for Cyber Monday, others avoid all the hustle and bustle by giving gift cards instead. In an article by Time Magazine, most retailers prefer giving gift cards over cash, but Time also took a look at shoppers giving gift cards. The article says that the National Retail Federation reports gift cards have been the top item on consumer wish lists for five years in a row. "I would rather have a gift card because I don't want people to buy me anything or go overboard," David Norcross of Fox Point said in a Facebook post. Fox Point Best Buy the Only Location in Wisconsin Not Opening at Midnight for Black Friday

Best Buy in River Point Shopping Center will open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.

As Best Buy stores across the country open at midnight Friday morning, the Best Buy in Fox Point will be quiet on the set, waiting until 5 a.m. to open in accordance with their conditional use permit from the village. Village Manager Susan Robertson said Best Buy could have submitted an application in October to change their hours, however nothing has been turned in. And residents don't seem to mind the regularly scheduled hours staying traditional. "I live in Fox Point because it's quiet here at midnight to 3 a.m. so it's fine they stay closed," resident Peter Stark said in a Facebook post.
