Former School Board Member Arrested at Nicolet Homecoming

It took two Glendale police officers to remove Jennifer Peltz from the Nicolet homecoming game Friday after principal asked to have a half-barrel of root beer removed from school property because kids were doing keg stands.

Former Nicolet High School board member Jennifer Peltz was arrested for disorderly conduct at the school's Homecoming football game after she resisted arrest when officers repeatedly told her to remove a half-barrel of root beer because kids were doing keg stands. To create this 40-minute block of time, Elliot proposed lengthening the school day by a total of 14 …

Nicolet School Board Candidate Drops Out of Race

Melody Halstrom will be on the April ballot, but says she will not take position if elected.

Melody Halstrom, 777 W. Dean Rd., announced Thursday that she is no longer running for a Nicolet School Board seat in the April 3 election. She said fellow candidate, Libby Gutterman, has many of the same goals and opinions that Halstrom does, so there's really no need for her to run for the board. "It would be a redundancy," Halstrom said. "I'm not running." School Board President Marilyn Franklin said that it's not possible to remove Halstrom's name from the April ballot. However, Halstrom says that if she is elected, she simply won't take the seat. "The three names will appear on the ballot and whoever gets the top two votes will be the winner," Franklin said. Franklin has turned in papers for re-election and newcomer Libby Gutterman …
