Vandalism continues in the 8600 block of North Pelham Parkway and elsewhere in the village.
Stolen cement statues and smashed pumpkins are only some of the recent vandalism incidents in Bayside and now two mailboxes were smashed as well. Around 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 22, a Bayside officer responded to a vandalism complaint in the 8600 block of N. Pelham Parkway when a newspaper carrier discovered shattered pumpkins and a damaged mailbox, according to police reports. When the officer arrived, he noticed pumpkin pieces scattered on the roadway and it looked like a pumpkin had been thrown at the mailbox, leaving a large indentation on the front, right side forcing the flap open, the report said.
