Pink Flamingos, Mayan Calendar and An Axe Found on Beach

A Fox Point homeowner with beach property got a big surprise when he found a small enclave set up on the beach which resembled a good prep for the end of the world due in December.

A homeowner in the 1500 block of West Fairy Chasm Road was a bit frightened Saturday when he noticed some strange items along the beach in front of his house — so frightened, he wouldn't go down to investigate the odd objects alone.  Both the homeowner and the Bayside police officer walked down the steps together, according to a police report, and found a mattress and a pink sleeping bag. There were also various beer and liquor bottles strewn in the vicinity, but that wasn't all.  They continued walking and just to the north, they found a campsite complete with a chair, fire pit, pans, a pink plastic flamingo and some incense.
