Fox Point police arrested a man May 1 for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly stole from Best Buy, and police discovered several items used to consume heroin.
Fox Point police fielded some unlikely help May 1 as they pursued a man on foot, suspected of stealing from Best Buy. According to a police report, Fox Point police responded to a report of a retail theft in progress at about 12:58 p.m. at the electronics chain in the River Point Shopping Center, 8755 N. Port Washington Rd. The suspect left on foot before police arrived, however police spotted him walking westbound on West Brown Deer Road after receiving a suspect description. When an officer asked the man to stop, he fled west toward Indian Hill School. While in chase, the officer witnessed the suspect pull a box from a camouflage bag on his back, and drop it on the ground. Police later recovered the box that contained a $200 Beatspill …

About $300 was grabbed during a burglary at Bayside Floral Design overnight on April 25.
Bayside Floral Design was the target of a burglary overnight on April 25, Fox Point police say. The flower shop owner told police an employee recognized something was wrong after she rang up a sale the morning of April 26 and realized there was no money in the business' cash register. The owner told police about $100 was taken from the cash register, and another $200 in a drop safe, which was missing from the shop located at 333 W. Brown Deer Rd., in the Audobon Court Shopping Center. Fox Point police say there are signs of forced entry to a backdoor. They believe a pry tool was used to gain entry through the locked entrance. Police are investigating a similar incident at a café in Mequon.

After being arrested for making inappropriate comments to customers at McDonald's, a man was able to avoid charges because he is a marine slated to be deployed.
After being arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting police officers, a man will not be charged because he is a marine slated to be deployed, according to Fox Point police. On April 25 at 7:50 p.m., Fox Point police responded to McDonald's in the Riverpoint Shopping Center, 8739 N Port Washington Rd., for a report of a man making inappropriate comments to patrons at the fast food restaurant. A victim told police the man came over and asked if a 3-month-old infant was her daughter. She said yes and he responded by saying if he got a girl pregnant, he would abort the baby. He also made comments about breastfeeding and touched the infant several times after being asked not to touch her. Upon police arrival, the man refused to answer …

A roundup of the latest from the Fox Point police reports.
Fox Point police arrested a man April 14 for drunken driving during a traffic stop for failing to come to a complete stop at flashing red lights. At 2:55 a.m. a police squad was parked in the 7600 block of North Port Washington Road when he witnessed the driver fail to completely stop at a nearby intersection. Police made a traffic stop on the southbound I-43 on-ramp. The driver told police he didn’t have a valid driver’s license, and that’s when police say they could smell alcohol on the man. He failed field sobriety tests and registered a 0.13 blood alcohol content during a Breathalyzer. He was also cited for driving after suspension, and warned for speeding and a stop light violation.
