Citizen Tackles Suspect during Police Foot Chase

Fox Point police arrested a man May 1 for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly stole from Best Buy, and police discovered several items used to consume heroin.

Fox Point police fielded some unlikely help May 1 as they pursued a man on foot, suspected of stealing from Best Buy. According to a police report, Fox Point police responded to a report of a retail theft in progress at about 12:58 p.m. at the electronics chain in the River Point Shopping Center, 8755 N. Port Washington Rd. The suspect left on foot before police arrived, however police spotted him walking westbound on West Brown Deer Road after receiving a suspect description. When an officer asked the man to stop, he fled west toward Indian Hill School. While in chase, the officer witnessed the suspect pull a box from a camouflage bag on his back, and drop it on the ground. Police later recovered the box that contained a $200 Beatspill …

Police Led on Chase through North Shore

Two Milwaukee juveniles — police say were driving a stolen car — led authorities on a chase through a few North Shore communities Sunday morning.

Two Milwaukee juveniles — police say were driving a stolen car — led authorities on a chase through a few North Shore communities Sunday morning. According to the report, at 12:14 a.m. Shorewood police ran the plates of a car traveling north on North Oakland Avenue. The car came back as stolen from West Milwaukee; police followed the car, and attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Henry Clay and North Marlborough Drive in Whitefish Bay. The suspects initially stopped, then drove off. Shorewood police pursued the suspects as far as North Port Washington Road and Henry Clay, where Glendale police took over. Bank Robbery Suspect Caught at Stormonth School

Neighbors frightened as police chase that starts in Brown Deer ends near school playground.

A man suspected of attempting to rob Guaranty Bank in Brown Deer Thursday afternoon was apprehended just outside the playground on the south side of Stormonth Elementary School in Fox Point just before 3 p.m. Brown Deer police say the department received a 911 call from an employee at the bank, 4000 W. Brown Deer Rd., around 2:20 p.m. saying that a man wearing a mask and carrying a loaded gun had just attempted to rob the business. An employee locked the door before the man could get inside. When he could not get in, he fled the scene in a gold Lexus.
